# Gap pass F

Candidates in `img-candidates/<slug>-f/` (max 2000 px, no upscaling, `_sources.tsv` each). I viewed all on contact sheets. **B01** = `/Volumes/Backup_01/Project Archief/`. **WB** = web.archive.org capture of Jonathan's own Lowman site hellowman.nl (CDX works; `/wordpress/...` 2008 image URLs only return 302 -> dead, only 2011-12 `/portfolio/` captures of some images are retrievable). Own Facebook/Instagram exports: no images; only dated text hits (below).

## Context facts (verified in sources)
- hellowman.nl CV page (WB 2007-12-13): "Fourth year Graphic Design Student. Living in The Hague studying in Utrecht... 2002 till now Utrecht Academy of Arts, Graphic Design; 2006 Internship at Machine; 2005 Internship at Solar_Initiative; 2007 Drop#1 Exhibition 19 Oct Amsterdam".
- Site portfolio list (WB playful page, 2009) names: Don't Believe The Type, Amongst Friends, Nacht Salon, Cleanrecord, Anothersomething, Van Bostelen Neo2, Reload 44-46, Tactile Translations, Drop#1-6, Fingertype, ROS, Burgers/Reizigers, Machine, Neon, Mixtape, Ego Expo.

## 1. Pollyshuffels = "Polyshufflez" by Comfort Fit (2008-09)
- Year: concept PDF 2008-11-30; MySpace/promo art 2009-04-04/05 (file dates). Spelling in sources: "Polyshuffle", "Polyshufflez", folder `polly-shuffel` (empty).
- What: album cover/sleeve for the artist Comfort Fit: collage of rotated photo shards forming the title POLY SHUFFLEZ. Jonathan also did the Comfort Fit logo (v2-v6 Dec 2008-Jan 2009, delivered 2009-02-11) and a MySpace skin. Own text in PDF: "POLY SHUFFLE IS A MODERNDAY MOSAIC... collection of photographs of different realities... shapes... parts of buildings".
- Role: designer (sleeve, logo, MySpace graphics). Client = Comfort Fit (person/act unidentified in sources; hellowman.nl lists comfortfit.de as a friend link: unverified link).
- Sources: `B01/Comfort Fit.zip` (zip has a 4 GB offset warning; extraction of listed entries works): `myspace/02 SKETCH/polyshufflez.jpg`, `polyshufflez02.jpg`, `myspace/SKETCH_V05.jpg`, `Logo/03 PRES/Polyshuffle.pdf`. Not extracted: logo EPS set, `doc's/Lowman_DesignContract_01-2.doc` (contract, left unread/confidential).
- Images (`pollyshuffels-f/`): hero 895x895; row-01 895x530 (banner "the new album by Comfort Fit - Polyshufflez - out soon"); row-02 2000x2000 (credit line "Comfort Fit / Polyshufflez"); row-03 1132x1600 concept text p2; row-04 sleeve sketch p3; row-05 logo inspiration p1.
- Risks: row-03/05 hold other designers' reference images (internal moodboard, do not publish). Photos inside the collage are mostly downloaded textures (Comfort Fit/fotos has dozens of web textures): licence unknown. Client confidentiality low (promo art) but contract exists.
- Unknown: whether the album was released, label, artist identity, whether sleeve was printed, the daily note's "Pollyshuffels = Comfort Fit.zip" matches; spelling "Pollyshuffels" is from the master-index, not the files.

## 2. Museum N8 flyer = "Nachtsalon" for n8 (2009)
- Correction to the label: files show it is **n8 presents NACHTSALON, 20 March 2009, ARCAM (Architectuurcentrum Amsterdam)**, theme green utopia / "Concrete & jungle", afterparty Trouw/de Verdieping. Not confirmed as part of Museumnacht itself (n8.nl organises Museumnacht Amsterdam: my background knowledge, unverified in sources). The existing gallery thumbnail `projects/since-today/gallery-staging/thumbnails/jl_n8.png` is titled "Museum N8".
- Role: designer. Back of flyer reads "design by Lowman". Brief by n8 (email 2009-02-02 from n8 staff asking for campaign image by 9 Feb, print week of 16 Feb, distribution 23 Feb). Deliverables: flyer, A3 poster text, advert, Hyves header, animated website banner. Final flyer PDF dated 2009-02-17.
- Sources: `B01/N8.zip` > `N8/03 PRESS/flyer/Final/flyer-front.pdf`, `flyer-back.pdf`; `02 SKETCH/Banner/N8-Hyves/Hyves-Header-N8.jpg`; `.../N8-website/NSN8-Ani.jpg`; brief texts in `01 BRIEF`. Facebook export events: "Museumnacht Den Haag 2014" (12 Sep 2014 entry), "Museumnacht" 8 Nov 2009: attendee events, not his design work.
- Images (`museum-n8-f/`): hero flyer front 1379x2000; row-01 back 1379x2000; row-02 Hyves header 830x470; row-03 banner 960x175.
- Risks: collage contains three silhouetted people (from stock "bronbeeld" folder, 2005 files; source/licence unverified, faces not recognisable but unconfirmed) and Dutch city-photo parts; flyer shows partner logos (Het Parool, n8, ARCAM, Trouw-like marks) and act names (third parties). Client work: ask n8 consent or keep to in-house portfolio; no fee data viewed.
- Unknown: print run, whether Jonathan was paid/credited beyond line, relation to Museumnacht, who made the collage photos, outcome.

## 3. Fingertype (2007)
- Year: blog post Dec 2007 (WB comments 11-12 Dec 2007); Jonathan replied "type design will hopefully be available before the end of 2007". Daily 2026-07-11 notes it as HKU final exam '07 with 5 sister typefaces (not re-verified here). WB "Fingertype in the Adbusters" press post 2008-05-24 (images adbusters1-4 not retrievable), news item "Fingertype in the Adbusters" 2009-11. Instagram comment "#Fingertype" on a third party post (aldeiaacabamentos, 2018): irrelevant.
- No new image. Existing: `fingertype/`, `fingertype-d/`. The 2007 post image `fingertips01.gif` is dead in WB.
- Unknown: full alphabet completed? Adbusters issue/number, which page.

## 4. Tactile Translations (ONcovered), 2008
- What: Jonathan's entry in the ONcovered sleeve-design competition by ONtwerp Atelier (record sleeve for a non-existing band; a musician interprets it): sleeve "Below the Surface / Tactile Translations", four textures (Wicked Wood, Smothered Stone, Crispy Concrete, Tedious Textile). Shown as a finalist candidate at Papier Hier, Amsterdam, 10 Dec (year 2008 from post dating; WB post 2009-01-23). Role: designer, competition entry.
- Sources: `B01/OnCovered.zip` > `OnCovered/def/lowman_front.jpg`, `lowman_back.jpg` (2008-11-01/02); WB 2012 capture of the 593 px front; textures in `OnCovered/Oncoverd materials/` and Comfort Fit/fotos (web textures, 2008-10); also `~/SynologyDrive/Since Today/PRESENTATIE/PRESS Folder/Links/Oncoverd-*-lowman*.jpg`; existing `projects/since-today/gallery-staging/thumbnails/jl_oncovered.jpg`.
- Images (`tactile-translations-f/`): hero front 800x800 (hand holding cover), row-01 back 800x800, row-02 WB front 593x594 (clean). Two 450 px duplicates had truncated JPEGs and were dropped.
- Risks: collage includes a vintage portrait of a woman (stock, top left) and textures from web (licences unknown); the hands are unidentified. Contest rules/terms not read.
- Unknown: winner/placing, who the musician was, exhibition photos (cimg1462/1496, WB dead).

## 5. Black-Lacker type experiments (2008)
- What: two Illustrator files "version.ai" (2008-06-26), "printABC.ai" (2008-06-25): high-contrast didone-like ABC with cut/stacked forms. Only these two files exist in `B01/Black-Lacker.zip`. No text, no brief.
- Images (`black-lacker-f/`): hero ABC A4 render, row-01 stacking experiment. Both rendered by me from .ai PDF layer; the typeface base (which font) unknown, may derive from a third-party face.
- Unknown: everything beyond file dates; name "Blacklacker" is the zip name. No public source found (grep in FB/IG exports: none; WB site: no page).

## 6. Playful Type (2008-09)
- What: WB news page "Lowman in Playful Type" (2009-11 capture of /news/playful-type; text not retrievable, only the portfolio index shown). Image name `lowman_playfultypecover.jpg` (uploads 2008/12) suggests a book cover/feature. Jonathan's inclusion, not authorship, likely: unverified.
- Sources: WB CDX only. Image dead. No local file found (searched B01 names, PF, SynologyDrive).
- Unknown: what the book/publisher is, which work was included.

## 7. Typography posters: Graphic Design Festival Breda 2010
- "The Typeface Dictates The Message" A0 poster: already in `typeface-dictates-d/`. WB post says: poster project of GDF Breda, theme "Decoding The City"; FB timeline shows blog posts "Portfolio update: The Typeface Dictates The Message" 24 Jun 2010 and "New blog post: Give Type A Face" 24/25 Jun 2010.
- **Give Type A Face (GVD)**: WB text: "Made for the Graphic Design Festival Breda 2010. Exhibited as part of group exhibition GVD project, based on 'The Incomplete Manifesto For Growth' by Bruce Mau." Red poster, ornamental green letterforms with drop shadow, tall A-format. Sources `B01/GVD.zip` (files 2010-04-14: `lowman_GVD.pdf`, `opmaak1.ai`, `opmaak2.ai`) and the WB image (named `lowman_DBTT_poster02`). Images (`give-type-a-face-f/`): hero 1426x2000 render, row-01 WB 438x614, row-02 layout file. Risk: the letterforms look like a Victorian ornamented wood-type style: whether Jonathan drew, traced or used a third-party font is unconfirmed (this answers/leaves open the question in gaps-D). Group exhibition participants unknown.
- Unknown: printing, size, whether shown in Breda 2010 (gaps-D asked the same).

## 8. T-shirts
- **Back Once Again** (reunion tee, Aug 2007; label launch May 2008): covered in `back-once-again-e/`. New WB facts: "Launch T-shirt Lable" post (2008-05-25): "first design to hit the streets will be Back Once Again", black/white for guys and girls, limited summer Grey&Purple guys, Pink&Purple girls, organic cotton, emission and sweatshop free, webshop www.hellowman.nl/shop. "T-shirt exhibition at Sweatshop" post: kick-off at Graphic Design Festival Breda 23 May (festival 23 May to 29 June), exhibition "Sweatshop" hosted by Staynice with 200+ shirts incl. Sagmeister, Toko, ilovedust; shirts with Attune shirts. Year of Breda festival = 2008 (post date), which fits Jonathan's 2010 poster as a second Breda participation. Not retrieved: `wit-allebei.jpg`, `sweatshop_poster.jpg`, webshop (dead).
- **Cotton Canvas / "Foundation" project (2011)** and "Unknown Serie" screenprint: `cotton-canvas-2011-f/` 7 abstract-shape tee mockups 282 px + one pink/blue screenprint 463x650. Outside the 2005-2012 core? It is within, but 2011 and portfolio text: "pieces of clothing as medium to present and distribute abstract visual shapes... ink on raw unbleached cotton". Mockups are digital, not photos of worn shirts. Gwenda is not shown.
- Other: `B01/Limited T-shirts.zip` (3 GB, July-Sept 2011, "Interview Lowman.doc", briefing.rtf: a commissioned limited-edition shirt brief for a third party, not opened: unknown client, likely confidential). `Backup_02/Project Archief 02/T-Shirts.zip` is 2013 Since Today, out of scope. `PF/Project T-SHIRT/` (3 TIFs) not opened (era unverified). "Vruchtvlees t-shirts" post = a friend's brand, not Jonathan's.

## Still open for Jonathan (not asked of anyone)
1. Pollyshuffels: confirm it is the Comfort Fit album Polyshufflez and who Comfort Fit is.
2. N8: confirm it is the Nachtsalon (20 Mar 2009) and not Museumnacht; permission from n8.
3. Give Type A Face letterforms: drawn by you? 4. Black-Lacker and Playful Type: what were they.
5. Whether Tactile Translations was placed in the contest.
